The 12th CEC
Assembly logo has been created by Edwin Hassink, a Dutch graphic
designer living in Geneva, who was also the author of the Graz logo
(2nd European Ecumenical Assembly, 1997).
The Trondheim Assembly
logo shows Jesus’ open hand (with the sing of the nail in the
middle) and at the same time a dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The
heart at the centre symbolizes God’s love, which we are called to
witness in Europe.
“We are called to witness our faith”, explains the artist, “even without seeing the wounds in the hands of our Lord… The forgiving, giving and
receiving hand of the risen Lord comes down to us in the form of a
dove, a symbol of peace and understanding…”.
